Kathryn Danzey has over 40 years experience in the health and beauty industry. She launched Rejuvenated in 2003 and has formulated a whole host of ‘beauty from within’ supplements ranging from the global bestseller Collagen Shots to their latest launch Immune Complex. The brand is available to buy across the world and stockists include Cult Beauty, Skincity and Face The Future.

 

1: Tell us a little bit about your business and what makes it special

 

Rejuvenated is a pioneering market leader within the beauty and health industry. We formulate cutting-edge nutritional formulas that contain unique blends of natural active ingredients for visible results and inner health. However as a brand, we’re not just about offering amazing products, we also provide a whole lifestyle programme including a personalised online consultation, so that each customer receives the best Rejuvenated experience.

When we first started Rejuvenated, our vision was to create a range that could be simply introduced into our customer’s lives to help them look and feel more youthful. We had no idea that we would grow to have customers from across the world. The really wonderful thing is that this growth has been mostly achieved by word of mouth and recommendations!

Our products have to include the best ingredients. I personally wouldn’t want to take anything else and we couldn’t sell products that we really didn’t believe in.

We’re also working hard to improve our planet footprint. Our best-selling product, Collagen Shots, is now available in compostable pouches and we’re delighted to be phasing in these for 5 more products at the beginning of 2021. We’re also looking at ways that can reduce the environmental impact of our current production and shipping methods.

 

2: How would you describe your business culture and why is this culture important?

At Rejuvenated we are fortunate to have an amazing group of extremely talented hardworking individuals who each excel in their own right but together are an incredibly powerful high achieving team.

A positive company culture is everything to us and it’s more important than ever right now. We sat down at the start of the first lockdown to chat about how we could support each other as a team and how we could roll that support out to our customers. We haven’t been able to get together physically but our weekly meetings are so motivating, it’s wonderful to be a part of them. Each member is so supportive of the rest of the team and it’s inspirational to receive everyone’s follow up notes as they are buzzing to continue and develop discussions. Everyone’s opinion is important, and all topics are discussed as a team.

Communication is essential, it’s easy to misinterpret an e mail or text, so we quite often have impromptu zoom catch ups to clarify something.

 

3: What or who motivates or inspires you in business?

The benefits our customers experience after taking our products definitely inspires and motivates me. Someone might find us, because they’re looking to regain a bloom in their skin but then discover that our products are actually multi-taskers.

We receive endless testimonials and comments saying that our products have improved our customer’s lives. Everything from having more energy, to reduction in pain and improved skin inflammation. Each message is so special; it fills me with pride to think that the Rejuvenated brand has helped so many people.

 

4: What are your business goals for the next five years?

Our main goal is to grow the Rejuvenated community in the UK and internationally. We’re fortunate to have several streams of income including retail, online stores, distributors and practitioners plus beauty and aesthetic clinics. We believe in investing in our retailers and are proud to say that our clinics have become an extension of the Rejuvenated ethos and community.  We put the time to good use during lockdown and built a professional web page for our stockists to access brand materials. We also created an accredited training programme to support their knowledge and expertise.

We are constantly looking to expand globally as there are so many opportunities out there. Yes, it comes with challenges (Brexit!) but there’s so much potential for growth.

While we have international projects on-the-go, we will alwats continue to focus on each and every individual as well as the development of our personal programmes.

We have a 5-year product development plan, but not particularly a set time to launch products. I like to think of it as my magic cupboard of potions and secrets, ready to be revealed when the timing is right. One such product is Immune Complex.  We were going to launch this autumn but when Covid-19 happened we felt it was imperative to bring it to market straight away. We truly felt that it was the best product to help our customers to support their health.

We’ve worked on the concept of ‘beauty from within’ for over 25 years and were so ahead of the game that we had to create awareness of the fact that a supplement could actually have an impact on your skin.

We’re now at a new stage of development in this concept and instead of simply talking about general health and wellbeing, we now understand the mechanisms within the body that support optimal cellular function. As a brand, this knowledge enables us to choose ingredients that work to promote cellular health, boost the skin or even help promote immunity. We can therefore create multi-tasking products that specifically target several areas. The next few years will be very exciting.

 

5: Name one book every business person should read and why they should read it.

To be honest, I spend so long reading clinical studies for product development that I would rather listen to a podcast or take a day out to do a course.  As a book though EMyth is great.  It goes from the basics and is an excellent first read.
