Darren Lewitt is one of the most successful entrepreneurs in the East of England and a great role model of how someone can start at the bottom and rise to the top using pure determination, self-belief and an abundance of creativity.
In 1991 after eight years in the Royal Air Force, Darren decided to join a £10 million IT Norfolk distributor and after a few successful years in sales, he was given a new challenge to evolve the company. The next 20 years saw Darren leading an extraordinary evolution process that would turn Midwich into the world’s largest specialist Audio Visual Distribution Group, acquiring 13 companies and operating in seven countries. Today the company is listed and has a turnover in excess of £500 million. After 24 years with the company, Darren felt he had achieved his goals and with his legacy secure, decided to sell his ⅓ stake in the company.
Keen to embark on his next challenge, Darren set up the just2Achieve Academy which allowed him to selectively mentor and coach business leaders and individuals. In addition he volunteers his time to a number of worthy causes. As an Academy advisor he inspires young students, some under privileged and some with complex care needs. As a Grandmentor for the charity Volunteering Matters, Darren mentors young people leaving the care system; this work led him to win the National Mentoring award in 2019.
