From the streets to your screens: Roshambo Live is the virtual break we all need

Lockdown may start to feel like déjà vu for the masses, but the uphill struggle for human connection is constant. With social distancing measures in place and weekly quizzes dramatically losing their lustre, technology needs a jumpstart to help people connect and unwind virtually!

Businesses have made a huge leap of faith to enable staff to work from home successfully, with the Zoom boom, Slack takeovers and scheduled lunchtime walks. It’s been a big transition and most would say, a successful one, with lots of businesses choosing to save on physical office space: even Google has pledged to stay virtual until Summer 2021. The stark question remains of whether this is a long-term strategy that will do more harm than good, and how can a game of Rock Paper Scissors make you feel 1000x better?

How to separate work from home

When the commute home is at most 7 steps in your slippers, detangling work from home is challenging to say the least. The issues of work from home fall squarely in maintaining mental health more than sourcing readily available technology. With the lack of human contact, social interaction and daily walks to the coffee machine with your colleague, the respite from work when you log off at the end of the day is even more important.

Board games, Tik Tok dances and online zumba classes can pump some serotonin, but by now they’re feeling a bit repetitive after months of sporadic lockdown. As the co-founders of Live Tech Games, we knew it was our place to fill this hole with something bigger and better. Even before lockdown, we were determined to come up with something that could combine our favourite games and a buzz of adrenaline, with the added bonus of winning real prizes.

Work hard, play harder

Our first app Roshambo Live launched this Summer and has been a roaring success financially and emotionally! The free app hosts live, nationwide knock-out tournaments of Rock Paper Scissors three times a week. The game is so simple, you can play with your children before bed; you can play with your grandparents on the weekend or you can play with colleagues for a different kind of after work Thursday social. The games are absolutely free to get involved with, take just five minutes to play, and the winner gets a huge £1000. Already, we have given away over £30,000 since our launch and changed hundreds of lives. The game is exactly what the world needs right now: it enables you to socialise, unwind and connect virtually, without needing to move from the sofa!

Adrenaline induced fun

Adrenaline bursts are few and far between at the moment with the most exciting part of the day being a trip to Tesco, if you’re lucky. With the Winter chill creeping in under the guise of a Lockdown slump, and Christmas peeking around the corner, conflicting emotions might be on the rise. We want to shower our family with love and gifts but we might be suffering financially after a few months of furlough and wondering how we can do it all, and give ourselves a breather at the same time.

The benefits of technology in the working world speak for themselves, but in our private life we tend to see screens as the enemy to relaxing. Roshambo Live requires just five minutes of your undivided attention, promising a 100% success rate for excitement, suspense, and a charge of adrenaline, even if you’re in your pyjamas! So if you’re missing activities that make your heart stop in your throat, we’ve got the lockdown edition at your fingertips.

If you’re logging off every day, the windows too dark to contemplate going outside and you feel the lockdown funk more than ever, all we have left to say is, how can £1,000 change your life? And why aren’t you already downloading Roshambo Live?

About Samuel Worsley and Nathan Moore:

Samuel and Nathan met at Microsoft in 2017, where they bonded over their natural drive to create and innovate. With individuality, responsibility and the opportunity to grow, fail and succeed on their own terms at the forefront of their goals, they decided to strike out on their own. Whilst their careers were solidified at Microsoft, they both have an impressive span of entrepreneurial ventures. Live Tech Games came about, not from avid gaming passions; they are adamant that the apps available will be completely inclusive of a wide ranging audience, and geared more towards a demographic of family-friendly, positive entertainment. By marrying their business ambitions and passion they landed upon Live Tech Games as a strong contender for the future of live tournament mobile gaming.

Live Tech Games seeks to fill the gap in the mobile gaming industry for live, light hearted games; competitive but inclusive; commitment free and with the capacity for high reward. Their first app Roshambo Live is a thrice weekly digital tournament of Rock Paper Scissors, played nationwide with the winning prize of £1,000 every game. Roshambo Live is available to download now on the app store or google play store.
