How to create a winning business website

How do you make your page stand out in search results and drive people to click through to your website from Google? That’s a question people often ask, and it can depend on the industry—and what you’re offering. But there are a lot of different ways to achieve it, many of them easier than you would think. In order to help you stay ahead of your competition, here are seven tips for how to create a winning business website.

Mobile responsive websites are the way to go

In today’s tech-savvy world, it is an absolute must for your business website to be mobile responsive. No one likes it when they visit a website that is hard to read and navigate. And, most importantly, no one wants it to wait a million years for your site to load. Mobile responsiveness is an essential part of any website build.

Your website must offer smooth accessibility no matter the device.

Use a unique but easily searchable domain name

Building a website for your business obviously begins with the domain name. The domain is a key part of your business’s identity and differentiation in the marketplace. It serves as a virtual storefront or “home base.” You want it to be one of a kind and yet easy to remember. You don’t want potential clients to find promotional material for your business, make a mental note of the website listed on it and forget what the domain name is when they’re finally ready to check it out.

Provide smooth navigation for visitors

If you’re looking to create a winning business website, don’t make it too complicated. One of the most common mistakes people make when creating a website is using too many navigation tabs. This can be really confusing for your readers, especially if they’re new to your site or they’ve landed on a page that’s not the homepage. If possible, limit your navigation to five tabs then group sub-tabs accordingly so you can guide your website visitors towards the action you want them to take.

Visible contact information is a must

Make it easy for visitors to contact you! Include an email address and phone number somewhere prominent on every page of your site so people know how to reach out if they have questions or want more information about what you do!

Keep your pages clean and easy to digest

Except for blog pages, you must limit the information presented on pages. You don’t want to cause information overload and scare your visitor away!

Only place information related to each other together on one page. If something is irrelevant, remove it.

Keep it simple! Don’t overload visitors with too many options—stick with just a few that are most likely to resonate with your audience (you can always add more later).

For blog posts, use subheadings liberally throughout your content—they help break up long paragraphs and make it easier for readers to scan sections without getting bogged down in details they don’t care about right now!

Place a call to action

Landing pages are the calling cards of your website. Whether you’re trying to have visitors call your business or sign up for your mailing list, you need landing pages that give users a reason to take any specific action. Give them a convincing invitation to take action. Good websites will have contact buttons strategically placed across all pages.

Follow SEO common practices

You can have the best website in your industry; it doesn’t matter though if no one knows about it. Most businesses tend to look for the quick and easy way out. The first thing they think of is spending a fortune on ads. This isn’t necessarily the best strategy. Why not take another route? Learn about free organic search traffic. Use the best strategies. Sit back and relax as you get organic visitors.
