Poem by Syed Inshaallah Tahir – Paradise In Lock-Down

SPRING has come as buds bloom
Then what has made it turn into gloom,
From long distances have birds flown
Where has the real inhabitants gone,
I have not heard from so long
Children’s Prayer from the schools they belong,
I belong to the very SAFFRON’S land
Where flowers blossom in the deserted  sand,
My heart is reeling under deep pain
From decades we are fighting stress n strain,
We have stayed home for unlimited time
Being innocent here is the greatest crime,
Lock-down for us is not a big deal
But, I want to know what others do feel,
Life has like just taken a pause
And everyone knows what is the cause,
Keep your hope going and be strong
This dark phase will not stay for long,
We’ve to firmly hold our positive thought
Fight this ‘Time’ as we have never fought,
I know it is tough and hard to bear
Sure, shall  we overcome through patience n Prayer,
Do remember the lesson this ‘Time’ has taught
IMPARTIALITY be present in every thought,
Staying Safe is Staying Home
Whether in Kashmir , whether in Rome…
