Over the past ten years the market for large screen TVs has grown significantly, with more and more consumers opting for bigger and better displays to enjoy their favorite movies, TV shows, and games. With the rise of 4K and 8K resolution technology, the demand for large screen TVs has only increased. Consumers who want a truly immersive viewing experience and have the budget for it  ( the Samsung QLED 8K Q950TS retails at around $18,000) , are willing to invest in high-end TVs like the Samsung QLED 8K Q950TS.

Hand in hand with the growth in demand for these premium size TV’s, microchip technology has also evolved rapidly over the past few decades.  Advancements in display resolution, color accuracy, and contrast ratios have all fuelled a growth in a market which, just ten years ago, barely existed. The introduction of 4K and 8K resolution technology has made it possible for manufacturers to offer even more immersive viewing experiences to consumers. The use of quantum dot technology has also significantly improved the color accuracy and brightness of displays.

So, who would buy a TV for $18,000?  That’s easy.  The Samsung QLED 8K Q950TS is aimed at consumers who want the best of the best when it comes to their TV viewing experience.  For these viewers, money is no object.    This TV is designed specifically for those who demand the highest level of picture quality and advanced features. During a 10 day test of the Samsung QLED 8K Q950TS, I fell in love with the TV, hook, line and sinker.  And it’s easy to explain why.

Firstly, the incredible 8K resolution of the TV was out of this world. The pin sharp clarity and stunning detail of the images had to be seen to be believed.  Think the first time you saw 4K and times that by 1000 and you’ll be in the right ballpark.  The image on the QLED 8K Q950TS is truly outstanding, with every tiny detail being clearly visible on this enormous screen. This made for an out of this world ultra-immersive viewing experience, especially when watching movies or nature documentaries.

Imagine watching a TV where the people on the screen are bigger than you. And you can see every detail of their skin and clothes as though they were standing in the room with you.  Awesome.  The Quantum HDR 32X technology also added to the richness of the colors and the contrast, making the images virtually pop off the screen.

Secondly, the space-age advanced features of the TV were mind blowing. The Object Tracking Sound technology made it feel like the sound was coming from the exact location on the screen where the action was happening.    This created a more realistic viewing experience and made me feel like I was right in the middle of the action.

How does Object Tracking Sound technology work? OTS uses an array of speakers on the TV to create a more immersive audio experience by tracking the movement of objects on the screen and adjusting the sound accordingly.

To make this work, OTS first analyzes the audio signal to determine where the sound should be coming from on the screen. Then, the TV’s built-in speakers emit the sound from the direction of the object on the screen. For example, if a car drives across the screen from left to right, the sound will move from left to right across the TV’s speaker array to match the movement of the car.

To achieve this effect, the TV uses advanced algorithms and signal processing to determine the location of the object and the direction it is moving. This allows the TV to adjust the sound output accordingly, creating a more realistic and immersive viewing experience.

I watched The Lord of the Rings on the Samsung QLED 8K Q950TS and my nerves haven’t been the same since.  Additionally, the Artificial Intelligence upscaling technology made non-8K content look better than I had ever seen it before. The TV’s processor did an excellent job of enhancing the images, making them appear sharper and more detailed.

Thirdly, and this is a biggie,  the sheer luxurious design of the TV was, in my opinion, worth the asking price alone.  The ultra-thin design with minimal bezels gave the Samsung QLED 8K Q950TS a premium look and feel that was hard to match. It also made the TV blend seamlessly into my living room wall (all of the wall) , creating a more cohesive and modern look.

It’s fair to say the Samsung QLED 8K Q950TS exceeded my expectations in every way possible. Its exceptional picture quality and advanced features made it stand out from other TVs I have used in the past. Nothing (so far) comes close.   This was by far, an outstanding viewing experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high-end TV with advanced features and exceptional picture quality. Oh, and with $18.000 to splash out on a new TV.
