Nish Kotecha is an entrepreneur and investment banking professional, specialising in technology, fintech and social enterprises.
Nish is the Executive Chair and Co-Founder of Finboot, a technology company that gives its world class customers a competitive edge through accelerating their digital transformation, realising value and building trust through blockchain. Finboot has developed MARCO, an ecosystem which brings together blockchain technologies in one place, connecting multiple ledgers simultaneously. It enables companies to incorporate blockchain within their value and supply chains, bring traceability, transparency and compliance which, in turn, helps them meet sustainability and ESG requirements while also increasing operational efficiency.
Forexample, Minexx, a company which secures the mineral supply chain from earth to tech, last year, in a world first, exported minerals from the Democratic Republic of Congo with full financial traceability, transparency and trust, by processing $250,000 of digital blockchain certified payments.
In another example, global energy company, Repsol was able to collect and store data with an evidence trail to make it easy to measure and monitor the effectiveness of their net-zero initiatives, powered by Finboot’s MARCO ecosystem.
Finboot is also working with petrochemical giant, SABIC and Intraplas to investigate the possibilities of blockchain technology to improve the process of tracing the journey of plastic manufacturing feedstocks through the value chain to improve recycling rates and to make the process more efficient.
Nish is also the chief mentor and chair of AGAM International, a next generation fintech advancing the lives and livelihoods of individuals and SMEs by revolutionising lending. AGAM was shortlisted in the Best Financial Inclusion Payments Initiative category at #PAY360awards 2022, owing to its innovative technology, designed to promote financial inclusion.
Prior to this, Nish founded Geosansar, a fintech pioneer in India, created to provide financial inclusion to the 600 million unbanked. Combining technology and traditional opening models, Geosansar became the primary banking service provider for over 25 million customers.
A firm advocate for digital transformation and financial inclusion, Nish balances his commercial activities with an extensive pro-bono & NED portfolio. Nish’s portfolio includes companies like, AWE Funds, investing in innovative enterprises to promote Gender Balance; Board Member of Accion (Washington) 2009-2016, a NPO working to harness the power of digital technology to create a financially inclusive world. Nish was also the former board member of the financial inclusion forum (2013-2017).
Nish has also held senior positions at Lehman Brothers, JP Morgan and BZW/Barclays.
