Sophia Czarkowski spent 12 years working in local government before deciding to focus full time on her side hustle in June 2021. Sophia successfully transitioned her hobby into a full time business and registered for an ABN in July 2021. Art by Sophia focuses on creating connection between people in their everyday lives. Art by Sophia has four business streams:
1. Happy Hangers…because our ears deserve to be happy too
2. Statement Makers…because everyone should make a statement.
3. Corporate Branding……because your brand needs to stand out, not blend in.
4. Customisation Services…because you know what you want.
Through design, development, creation and selling, Sophia manages all facets of her business operation and is currently working on future growth and strategic planning to ensure she is building a sustainable business that is responsive to the environment and consumer needs.

Nominee’s three achievements
Achievement One: The Golden Hour
Sophia’s original artwork tumblers were gifted to the 2022 Gold Logie Nominees through the Celebrity and Hollywood Gifting Giftpacks. The artworks, which are painted by Sophia are then digitised and printed before being pressed by Sophia in her Rockhampton-based studio.
Achievement Two: Product growth/sales
Since obtaining an ABN (July 2021), Sophia has sold over 11,000 products across Australia and Internationally
Achievement Three: Recognition
Since turning full time, Sophia has received a suite of recognition for her business operations, growth and performance including being a finalist in the following awards – 2021 Best in Business Awards; 2022 Australian Rural Business Awards and 2022 Australian Small Business Champions. Sophia has also been featured in a variety of media outlets, including Ticker News; The Morning Bulletin (Courier Mail); Nine News and more.
